Paintings from Monument Valley
Last Christmas holiday was the first time I had traveled to Monument Valley with the express purpose of taking photographs for painting. We were lucky to have good, clear weather for two days. It was less than 10 F at night in our little tent, so we enjoyed driving the standard road in the heated car, especially in the eary mornings and late evenings! I took several hundred photographs altogether.

This month in my painting, I experimented with letting the cliff run off the page to create the effect of towering formations. Here are two of the my favorites.
